NATURE AROUND THE FINCA
The sheer cliffs at El Chorro offer a world-class location for climbing, caving and other outdoor pursuits. The nearby ‘El Caminito del Rey’ offers spectacular, heart-stopping views and is one of the area’s biggest tourist attractions with its amazing trail along vertical walls. Make your reservation well in advance!
Barranco Blanco – Coín
This adventurous walk is ideal for sunny and hot days. You will walk upstream by a small path, but soon you find yourself walking in the refreshing cold water to end your walk at a natural formed little lake. A perfect place for a swim. Do not forget to bring your picnic!
Sierra de Mijas
Mijas pueblo is a typical Andalucian white village. Well visit by tourists but not without a reason. The mass of people will disappear hiking into the hills around Mijas Pueblo. You will pass an old marble pit following a narrow path with fantastic views to the Mediterranean Sea and by clear weather to Morrocco.
Sporting cyclists will love the trails through the Guadalhorce valley, uphill from village to village. The real die-hard might dare to climb El Torcal. Finca Las Nuevas is surrounded by many sand roads to white Andalucian villages as Álora and Almogia.
El Torcal – Antequera
This amazing unique mountain predominate the scenery. By foot, bike or by car to one of the most spectacular limestone landscapes will make your day unforgettable. The layers of the rocks look like an enormous pile of balancing pancakes.
Sierra de las Nieves
Finca Las Nuevas is surrounded by nature. National Park Sierra Las Nieves offers numerous walking and cycling opportunities. We enjoy a walk to a waterfall near Tolox. Especially cooling down under the waterfall.
Lagune de Fuente de Piedra
It is a bit of a drive, but it will enable you to see thousands of flamingos. Together with the Camargue region in France is this one of Europe’s two main breeding grounds for flamingos. There are observation posts and information about walks and flamingos you will find in the visitor centre.
Sierra Nevada – Granada
The Sierra Nevada thanks its name to the snowy mountains in winter. This is one of the southernmost coastal areas in Europe. The ski areas are not very big, but the views of the Mediterranean and Morocco and the option to ski in the morning and in the afternoon to lay down on the beach makes it very special.
All year round you can play golf in Andalusia. Near Finca Las Nuevas are various golfcourses. The nearest are Lauro Golf and Alhaurin Gof and some further to the Costa there are many other courses to be found.
