Mijas, a walk in the mountains; vlog

Mijas Pueblo is one of the many beautiful whitewashed mountain villages of Andalusia. Situated above the busy Costa del Sol. The village has many narrow streets with coloured flower pots hanging on the whitewashed walls of the houses. But did you know, it has also some fabulous walking trails?

For some, the village is too touristic, while others love the atmosphere. Especially in the summer months, the village can be quite busy with tourists. If you would love the place is hard to tell. But what we can tell you is it will be a fun day out as you can combine a beautiful walk with a visit to the village. A perfect combination of nature and culture.

Mijas

View on Africa from Mijas

The trail goes through the Sierra de Mijas, a mountain range situated above Mijas Pueblo. There is not a lot of shade during the walk, which makes this an ideal walk for autumn, winter and springtime. You can walk while feeling the sun on your face and enjoying the endless views. On clear days you can look as far as Africa. And with some luck, you will see some mountain goats.

The walk to Mijas

The walk is linear, but as you can interrupt the walk by visiting Mijas Pueblo it is not boring to follow the same way back. The starting point of the hike and other information relating to this walk can be found in our free ebook walking trails.

Of course, you could also start this walk from Mijas Pueblo, but we like to do the hike in the opposite direction as you have a stop in the village. Gives you some time to visit the village. Have a rest at one of the many terraces before continuing your way.
